This book is worth reading and I love the story but I just don't like the part wherein the author tell too much background story of Emily Bronte, her role in the broadway. She is hesitant to take it but the reader doesn't get to feel her angst. It started off okay did not like the crime scene but it was visualized well and the emotions were all there. She is beloved for her strong female heroines and her romantic, page-turning plots. I couldn't even finish it and it was a book on tape.

The second half falls off, however, reverting mainly to inner dialogues and Katie's doubts about her ability to perform on stage. Moments later, the horror escalates when Katie's brother discovers the lifeless body of Denise, the third member of their inseparable trio. The ending was too predictable and the questions were all answered perfectly. With World War I looming, both families will find themselves tested in ways they never thought possible. A promising love affair adds to the excitement of working in the theatre; but Katie must face the demons of the past before she can embrace the possibilities of the future.
